Got questions about how eeziQS works, what's included, or how to get started? You're in the right place.
eeziQS is a real-time cost and carbon management platform for construction, integrated directly with AutoCAD, Civil 3D & Revit.
It enables engineers and project teams to generate accurate cost estimates as they design, eliminating manual takeoffs and reducing reliance on separate QS workflows. From early-stage design through to project delivery, eeziQS supports faster, more informed decision-making.
You can get started in minutes. Download the eeziQS app from the Autodesk App Store, open AutoCAD or Civil 3D and press Try Now – no account needed. To access the full platform, create your free account at eeziqs.co.uk/register and set up your project. Most users are generating live costs on their first drawing within minutes of signing up.
Download the eeziQS app from the Autodesk App Store, there are separate apps for AutoCAD & Civil 3D and for Revit. Once installed, open your Autodesk software and sign in using your eeziQS login details to get started.
Yes. Multiple users can work on the same cost estimate, with multiple drawings linked to a single project – allowing teams to design in parallel while feeding into one live cost.
eeziQS enables engineers and QS teams to generate real-time costs directly from AutoCAD, Civil 3D & Revit, eliminating manual takeoffs, drastically reducing delays and improving decision-making during design.
No. eeziQS is designed for both engineers and quantity surveyors, allowing teams to generate accurate takeoffs and cost estimates directly within AutoCAD, Civil 3D & Revit. It removes the need for manual PDF takeoffs and reduces reliance on separate QS workflows.
For non-specialists, it provides an intuitive way to produce reliable cost insights during design and delivery. For experienced QS professionals, it offers advanced tools to work faster and more accurately than traditional methods.
eeziQS is best suited for projects where fast, accurate cost and carbon insights are needed from early design through to construction.
It works across civil engineering, infrastructure and building projects, and is especially effective for Autodesk workflows, enabling teams to generate quantities and estimates directly from AutoCAD, Civil 3D & Revit without manual takeoffs.
Yes, we have developed supporting ‘how to’ videos, and there is guidance from our team via the support ticketing system if needed.
Built within the system is a support function where you can raise a ‘ticket’. License holders can raise tickets for specific queries and use the chat function to receive guidance through their issue.
Without AutoCAD, Civil 3D or Revit, you can upload measurements from third-party tools (DWG, Excel and CSV) or compile estimates and BoQs manually within eeziQS by double clicking an item from your rate library.
Yes – once you've downloaded the app from the Autodesk App Store, simply open the eeziQS tab in AutoCAD or Civil 3D and press Try Now. You can explore instantly with a sample drawing and rate library, map layers and generate live costs with no sign-up required. When you're ready to use eeziQS on your own projects, create your free account at eeziqs.co.uk/register.
Map Existing is used when you already have a design and want to map your existing layers to items in the rate library. Select each layer from the drop-down, map it to a rate library item and press Start Syncing Layer to generate your costs instantly.
Live Mapping is used when you're starting a new design from scratch – create your layers as you design, map each one to the rate library and press Sync All to watch your costs and quantities update in real time as your design develops.
Mapping Review is accessible from the eeziQS ribbon in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. It displays a table showing every mapped layer, the rate library item it's mapped to and the live quantities – giving you a full audit of your estimate at any point before you finalise.
Once signed in, eeziQS offers three workflows:
Pre Contract – designed for the design stage, Pre Contract allows you to map your CAD layers directly to items in your rate library and generate live cost estimates and Bills of Quantities as your design develops. Choose from Map Existing (for drawings you've already created) or Live Mapping (for new designs as you draw).
Post Contract – designed for use when projects are on site, Post Contract allows you to track and manage costs as designs change on site. It supports NEC- compliant compensation event quotations, generating real-time cost impacts directly from your updated drawings.
Manual Takeoff – designed for CAD files that aren't correctly layered or where you need to measure individual entities rather than whole layers. Select an item from the rate library, press Sync Entities, select the required entities from the drawing, press Enter to end the command and press Map Selection to transfer the quantities to your cost estimate.
First, select the unmeasured hatch and check whether it is showing an area in the properties panel. If no area is displayed, this indicates the hatch is overlapping somewhere in the drawing.
To resolve this:
Once corrected, you will be able to measure the hatch using Manual Takeoff as normal.
Although rare, on occasions the sync may not capture the full quantity correctly. If this happens, press the Reset Layer to 0 button – this will reset the layer quantity back to zero in your estimate. You can then press Sync Again when ready and the correct quantity will be synced.
Please note this does not apply to the Manual Takeoff feature.
Use the Manual Takeoff feature. It allows you to measure quantities directly from individual entities in the drawing, regardless of how it's layered or mapped. Select an item from the rate library, press Sync Entities, then select the required entities directly from the drawing, press Enter to end the command and press Map Selection to generate your quantities.
Simply update your drawing and click ‘Sync’ – quantities and costs are instantly recalculated, ensuring your estimates are always up to date.
eeziQS uses associative hatching, so hatch boundaries must be drawn on the same layer as the mapped item. Once applied, the boundary can be deleted if required.
No problem. Use the bin icon to clear the mapping, then re-map the layer to the correct item and click ‘Sync’ to update your estimate.
Click the back button within AutoCAD, Civil 3D or Revit to return to the Pre Contract or Post Contract selection screen. Then reselect the stage and your project. When you open the estimate dropdown again, your new estimate will appear.
eeziQS reads data from AutoCAD & Civil 3D as follows (each item must be on a separate layer):
Yes, eeziQS reads the data from each layer you draw on.
No – eeziQS cannot read mixed item types on a single layer. Each item must be drawn on its own layer.
No – eeziQS requires blocks to be created as single, unified entities to ensure they are recognised and measured correctly. You can, however, use multiple individual blocks on the same layer.
To switch from Map Existing mode to Live Mapping mode, simply click the Map Existing button again to turn it off. You can switch between the two workflows at any time.
If a layer doesn't match any item in your rate library, map it to Rogue Item in the Quick Options panel. It will appear in the Unmatched Layers section of your cost estimate in the eeziQS web environment, where you can edit and reassign it to the correct section of your estimate or BoQ.
This is useful for bespoke or non-standard items that fall outside your standard rate library.
You can map layers and entities to rate library items directly within AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Revit. Once your drawing is ready or updated, simply click the green ‘Sync’ button to generate quantities and update your estimate.
You can also add items manually to your cost estimate or BoQ directly within eeziQS by double clicking an item from your rate library.
Yes, when creating your rate libraries simply modify your rates to your needs. You can also modify your rates within the cost estimate if needed and this will not affect your base rate library rate.
eeziQS is not limited to a fixed method of measurement. It works using a fully customisable rate library, meaning it can be set up to suit any method of measurement or pricing structure you use.
You can build and tailor your own rates, descriptions and rules to match your internal standards, SMM/NRM/CESMM, schedule of rates, or a completely bespoke approach. This flexibility allows eeziQS to be used across different project types, sectors and organisations while maintaining consistency and control over how quantities and costs are measured and reported.
Yes, once you have set up your rate libraries, you can assign them across multiple projects or teams.
No, rate libraries need to be compiled manually.
Yes, an indicative rate library with indicative rates and items is provided as part of your subscription. You can also choose from a range of public rate libraries when setting up your team.
Simply click ‘Rogue Item’ within AutoCAD, Civil 3D or Revit to map the entity, and the item will be added to the unmatched layers of your cost estimate for you to review and assign manually to the relevant section within your cost estimate or BoQ.
The compare function is designed for situations where you have multiple lots and want to compare costs across them to identify the best value. For the function to work correctly, the items must be identical across all the rate libraries you are comparing. If the items do not match, they will not be included in the comparison.
Yes – use the Bulk Upload feature. Copy the items you need from your Excel file (or other), then right-click on the rate library subtitle directly above where you want your rates to appear and select Bulk Upload. A window will appear allowing you to review your uploaded rates before confirming and adding them to your rate library.
Before copying from Excel, make sure your columns are in the following order (Rate Origin is optional):
| Item Description | Rate | Unit | Rate Origin |
eeziQS saves time by allowing you to design and update costs in real time directly within AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Revit. As you draw or make changes to your design, quantities and costs update instantly – eliminating manual PDF takeoffs and re-measuring.
This means faster iterations, immediate cost feedback and more informed decisions during design, without waiting on separate QS processes.
